Project team
The HNA Blueprint was developed through the collaborative effort of three primary organizations working in concert.
Turner Drake is a multidisciplinary real estate consulting firm headquartered in Halifax, NS. The Planning Division led this project with extensive experience conducting Housing Needs Assessments throughout Atlantic Canada and British Columbia.
ASBB Economics and Research serves small and rural communities with research, impact analysis, and strategy development. They provided background research, analysis, and supported branding and web development for the Blueprint.
Upland is Atlantic Canada's largest community planning consultancy. They designed and executed the main engagement activities during the pilot project in Prince Edward Island and contributed to engagement-related elements of the Blueprint.
Supporters and participants
The HNA Blueprint, and project work that led to its creation, was made possible through the support of key government partners and the participation of a broad variety of stakeholders. We acknowledge and thank these partners for their support.
Principal funding support was provided by the Government of Canada through the Research and Knowledge Initiative, administered by Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Canada.
Supplemental funding assistance, and key in-kind support at various stages of the project was provided by the Government of Prince Edward Island, through the Department of Housing and Communities.
Development of the Blueprint was informed by the insights, feedback, and advice of a broad variety of stakeholders engaged throughout the project. This included staff from various provincial and municipal departments, non-profit and community organisations, academia, and the private sector. Through workshops, group discussions, one-on-one interviews, survey participation, and other interactions, the time and effort of more than a hundred individuals helped shape the HNA Blueprint to better serve end-user needs and priorities.
